Booking Terms and Conditions 

A deposit of 50% of the total is required to secure your reservation. The balance is due 7 days prior to your arrival.

All bookings made within 7 days of arrival require to be paid in full.

Rates

Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include a light breakfast, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and use of all facilities.

Rates are for 1 or 2 people only. Rates include 15% GST.

Adults Only

The property is designed as an adults-only accommodation. However, children over the age of 16 are welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.

Pets

Pets are strictly prohibited for their own safety and that of our stock and wildlife at Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway.

Payment Policy

A 50% deposit for accommodation is required before the booking can be confirmed. The remaining 50% will be charged one week prior to your stay. In the instance where the booking is made less than 7 days before the stay the full amount will be charged at the time of booking.

Cancellation and Refunds

A full refund is provided for stays cancelled prior to 30 days of arrival. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival date: 50% of the total booking price will be charged.

Cancellation within 7 days of arrival date: 100% of the total booking price will be charged.

Credit Card details supplied will be used to charge any cancellation fees.

Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions. In this case, a full refund will be given.

Arrival and departure times

Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway is a private keyless access accommodation. It is recommended that guests arrive before dark.

Check-in time is from 2pm. Check-out time is 10 am. We will do our very best to accommodate requests for an early check-in or late check-out.

No Smoking Policy

This is a non – smoking property.

Health and Safety

A fire extinguisher is located under the kitchen sink, and full emergency plans are located on the wall as you walk in. Please read these on entrance. In an emergency always ensure your own safety first.

The driveway up to Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway is navigable by 2WD vehicles but it is very steep. Extra caution and very slow speeds are essential. We share a driveway with our neighbours at Fiordland Eco Retreat. Please be mindful of our young kids and other vehicles and pull to the side if it is safe to let someone coming in the other direction get past. 

We have livestock on our property. For their own safety and that of road users we use electric fences. While you are welcome to stop and visit the friendly animals, please don’t touch fences or go into the paddocks. If you wish to pat them, we suggest doing this at a gateway. 

Liability

Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway accept no responsibility for loss or damage to guest property during the rental period.

You acknowledge that the Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway property is unsupervised and that there are inherent risks in in the surrounding environment, particularly due to the steep terrain.  
You agree to take due care at all times for your own safety while using the facilities at Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway.

You acknowledge that you will be staying at Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway at your own risk. To the extent permitted by NZ law, Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway disclaims all liability for any loss or damage suffered (including physical injury and liability for negligence) while staying here.

To the extent permitted by NZ law, you will indemnify Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway for any loss or damage suffered by Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway in relation to your stay except to the extent caused by the wilful default of Te Anau Hilltop Hideaway.

Additional Charges

Additional charges will be applied if there is damage to the retreat or any equipment, contents, fixtures or fittings etc.

Obvious indiscriminate mess left in the Retreat will attract an excess cleaning charge for any extra cleaning required over and above the ordinary course of cleaning the property.

You will be notified of such charges within 48hours of check-out.
